Day 3

Beginning today's class with some myths about AT was helpful! How many people would think that you would have to start at low tech before moving on to high tech? I thought that was the case. Kids amaze me! You just never know what they are capable of until you give them a chance. They are natural risk takers. They figure things out by trial and error.

 I was a bit nervous today about the first assignment.


Once my partner and I decided on a child to work with, we were well on our way. It was actually fun! This assignment allowed me to see from the child's perspective. A lot of things, we take for granted. Sometimes you have to step out of ourselves to really understand others.

 The time went by so quickly. I'm excited to present our idea to the class. I learned so much today! The iPads are so fascinating!

    So glad you're enjoying the course LaurieAnn! AND you're having fun while learning. I'm thinking you will remember what you have done in class then long after the course ends. Learning is always more memorable when it is fun! Great work on your assignment

    I think you hit the nail on the head when you called kids natural risk takers. They enjoy to play and explore. I think that's why Ruby picked up so quickly on the technology and is pretty much self-taught. Like you said, she figured things out with trial and error and enjoyed doing it because most children love playing with and exploring technology especially with bright, colourful pictures and characters.
    I also really liked your "Go Fish" game.
